Panattoni Development Company Canada is pleased to be the Development Manager for the new state-of-the-art 600,000 square foot Amazon fulfillment centre, currently under construction at Panattoni’s 300 acre Highlands Business Park development located in Acheson, Alberta.
This 5-level multi-storey facility on 66 acres is a first of its kind in Alberta and will feature advance robotic sorting equipment used to pick, pack and ship small items such as books, electronics and toys.
The new Amazon facility, constructed by Alberta-based Ledcor Construction, is scheduled for completion in 2022 and will provide hundreds of construction jobs and over 1,000 part- and full-time Amazon jobs.
Highlands Business Park, located in Acheson, is one of the fastest growing industrial areas in Alberta. The site is located along major transportation routes providing users with strong connectivity to trucking routes and the greater Edmonton labor market.
Panattoni has worked closely with Parkland County throughout the approval process and would like to thank the staff for their efforts to support the expedited timeline required to achieve the construction schedule. Panattoni would also like to thank Parkland County Council for continuing to focus on economic development and growth for its residents and the region.
